Tucked away at the end of a secluded street in a quiet neighborhood and with Plumas National Forest behind, this cute apartment with full kitchen and internet is great for a weekend (or remote-work week?) away, or to serve as a launch pad for other Plumas adventures. Supervised + well-behaved pets are welcome. Cris + Lynda live in main house above and are usually on-site 24/7.

The Forest
It seems remiss to not mention a big part of our home’s character…the land it’s on!
We are in a very special transition spot for several different ecosystems: to the north is the active volcanic area of Lassen, and the official divide between the Sierra Nevada and Cascade mountain ranges. Just a few miles east towards Reno is the obvious change to the sagebrush covered high desert, giving us a delightful mix of mixed-conifer forest (mostly dominated by Ponderosa/Jeffrey pine) and sagebrush steppe.
Both of these transition into the riparian area next to the Cull Castle “moat” – a small, intermittent/ephemeral creek!
This varied mix of landscape and plants mean we get a variety of wildlife neighbors passing thru – deer, rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks, lizards, bats, bears, birds, etc!
We are working very hard to be responsible “land stewards” – please help us in this endeavor when exploring the property by staying on “paths” (or at least what looks like one), picking up any trash that might have turned up, and keep in mind we’re very likely on land previously used by the local native people, the Mountain Maidu.
